Camouflage Game Online

A camouflage game is a hide and seek game where paint is the only weapon. The browser version runs the same paint-and-hide loop with no download and no signup - paint, hide, and outlast the seeker.

Coming soon - Native Meccha Chameleon build in development

Our native Meccha Chameleon build is in active development. The previous iframe pointed at a third-party site and is now offline while we finish the in-house version. Play Hide N Seek! from GameDistribution on the main play page while you wait.

How the Game Works

In a camouflage game online, each player uses a paint tool to recolour their body to match the wall, floor, or prop behind them. The team with the best-painted Hiders wins, because a perfect colour match can hide you in plain sight.

A round typically lasts 2-3 minutes: a short paint phase, then a seeker hunt. The mechanics are identical to the full game - paint, crouch, match surfaces, freeze, and run.

Why Paint Beats Hiding

Unlike regular hide and seek, where the dark corner wins, in this game the best-painted corner wins. The dark corner is the first place a Seeker looks. The painted corner is invisible.

The key is matching the secondary colour, not just the dominant one. A red brick wall has grey mortar lines. Match both, and the Seeker walks past. Match only the red, and the grey lines give you away.

6 Maps in the Browser Version

The browser version has six official maps, each with different surfaces and lighting:

  • Mansion library - books, lamps, wooden furniture. Loud patterns, deep shadows.
  • Indoor country house - kitchen tiles, floral wallpaper, soft natural light.
  • Sewer - green-grey pipes, water reflections, low light. Crouch-spots everywhere.
  • Osaka - neon signs, store fronts, busy backgrounds. Best map for paint-only wins.
  • Penguin hotel - white-and-blue palette, ice textures. Hardest map for paint.
  • Backrooms - yellow wallpaper, carpet, fluorescent light. Reward the loudest camo.

FAQ

Is the camouflage game online free?

Yes. The browser version is free to play, with no signup and no payment wall. You only need a modern browser and a working internet connection.

Do I need to download anything?

No. The game runs in your browser. There is no installer, no admin permission, and no separate launcher. Open the URL and play.

Can I play with friends?

Yes. Use the in-game friend room and share the room code. Friend rooms support 4-8 players depending on the map.

How long is one round?

Most rounds last 2-3 minutes: a short paint phase, then a seeker hunt. Easy mode gives a longer paint window for new players.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. The browser game runs on phones and tablets. Touch controls replace mouse and keyboard automatically.

How to use this fan atlas before a round

  1. Open the map page you're queuing for (e.g. /maps/vintage-room, /maps/osaka).
  2. The hex codes next to each spot are paint hexes you enter in the lobby paint menu before the round starts. They match surfaces, not other players.
  3. Once the round starts, seekers cannot see hex codes or hex-based paint choices - only the resulting in-world paint texture.
  4. Use the difficulty rating (🟒 / 🟑 / πŸ”΄) to plan your strategy:
    • 🟒 Easy - visible from seeker spawn; blend into a single surface
    • 🟑 Medium - requires walking to a shaded wall; not visible from spawn
    • πŸ”΄ Hard - line-of-sight protected surface; requires map knowledge or a lucky guess

This atlas is a planning tool. It does not modify the game client. It does not show other-player positions in real time. It is unofficial and not affiliated with the developer (LE MORIOR).
